Original Reality Theory

Privacy Policy

Original Reality Theory (ORT) respects its readers’ privacy. This policy explains what information may be collected when you use this website, how it is used, and which external services take part in processing it.

1. Reader accounts and reading progress

Public reading does not require an account. Readers can create an account with an email address and password or sign in with Google to save their reading progress and resume on other devices.

Supabase Auth handles authentication, including email addresses, account identifiers, and information needed to maintain a session. When you sign in with Google, Supabase may receive basic profile information provided by Google, such as your name and profile picture. Your Google password is not shared with this website.

The supplementary reader profile stores only the account identifier, language, and creation and update dates. Reading progress records the book, language, content version, chapter, reading block, and update time. These records are not published or made available to other readers.

Without signing in, progress is stored locally in the browser. When signed in, it is saved in Supabase. If the account has no saved progress, the reader can choose to import the local position. Signing out does not copy account progress into visitor storage; an earlier local position may remain available in that browser.

Necessary cookies maintain the signed-in session. The browser also stores the preferred font size. On shared devices, sign out when finished. Accounts and progress are retained to support resuming your reading; you can request deletion using the contact listed in this policy.

Registration confirmation and password recovery emails are sent through Brevo, which processes the recipient and message content for delivery. Creating an account does not subscribe you to the newsletter.

2. Comments

When submitting a comment, readers voluntarily provide their name, email address, and the text of their comment.

This information is used to receive and moderate the comment and, if approved, publish it alongside the relevant content.

The name provided may be displayed publicly with an approved comment. The email address will not be published.

Comments are moderated before publication and may be approved, rejected, or deleted.

3. Protection against abuse and spam

Comment forms and email sign-in, registration, and account recovery forms use Cloudflare Turnstile to help distinguish legitimate interactions from automated attempts, spam, and abuse.

Verification may involve Cloudflare processing technical information about the browser, device, and interaction with the website.

Turnstile on this website is configured to run verification invisibly whenever possible, without requiring readers to solve traditional visual CAPTCHAs.

Use of Cloudflare Turnstile is subject to Cloudflare’s applicable privacy practices and the Turnstile Privacy Addendum.

Stored data includes the information needed to administer and moderate comments: the name, email address, comment text, language, associated content, moderation status, and dates and times relating to submission and any subsequent approval.

5. Follow the latest updates

Visitors may voluntarily subscribe to receive updates from Original Reality Theory and choose which types of content they would like to follow, such as articles, books, courses, and updates about the theory.

For this purpose, we may store the name the visitor would like us to use, their email address, subscription language, content preferences, date of consent, and information necessary to record the status of the subscription and any subsequent cancellation.

This information is used to confirm the email address provided, manage the subscription, and send the selected updates. New subscriptions and changes requested through the form require email confirmation. The subscription may be cancelled at any time.

Email updates are sent through Brevo, which processes the recipient’s email address and the message content to send the email. We keep subscriptions and the records needed to manage sending and prevent duplicates in Supabase. The unsubscribe link in each email updates the subscription in our system.

An email address provided when submitting a comment is not used to automatically subscribe the visitor to these updates. Subscription occurs only through a separate and voluntary action by the visitor.

6. How information is used

Collected information is used only for purposes related to the features offered by the website, including comment administration, moderation, security, abuse prevention, and, with specific consent, sending communications requested by the user.

7. Sharing

Data is not sold.

Information may be processed by infrastructure providers needed to operate the features described in this policy, such as hosting, database, and abuse prevention services.

8. Security

Technical measures are used to limit unauthorized access to information, including processing sensitive operations on the server and keeping private credentials out of the code sent to the browser.

However, no system connected to the Internet can guarantee absolute security.

9. Rights and requests

Readers may request information about, correction of, or deletion of personal data provided through the features of this website, subject to applicable legal and technical requirements.

Requests concerning privacy and the processing of personal data may be sent to ojumas@gmail.com.

10. Changes to this policy
